There are quite a few icon related applications you can find at ABBSoft. All of them quite useful. ABB Icon Explorer is one such software. It's a simple looking explorer window which lets you extract associated or contained icons from your files.
You will only have to wait for 1.4 Mb to be downloaded. The installation kit will complete the process swiftly, so you can have the application in under a minute.
There's not much to be said about ABB Icon Explorer. Like previously mentioned, it's an explorer window. You can access your folders either by double clicking on them on the main part of the window or using the navigation pane on the left side.
When clicking a file, the program will display one or more icons beneath the file list. All that's left to do is click one of the save buttons from the toolbar. There are 5 save buttons, each one for a different file format. Which one you click won't really matter, you can still select one of the formats in the window that will show up in order to specify a destination path. You can save any icon as .ico, ,bmp, .jpg, .png or as .icl (icon library).
Pros
The application lets you see any icon associated or contained in a file and save it using formats that are widely used.
Cons
The only thing to complain about is the 30 day trial period, but at least the trial version won't restrict you in any way before it expires. ABB Icon Explorer lets you save any icon in 5 different formats. All the functionality can be easily accessed by any user, from beginner to advanced.
